Brandon: The World has Consumed me.
I'm taking away the Hiatus this afternoon. Just keep in mind any posts you make from this point on, may or may not make it to the new server if/when I change hosting providers.

So, I got World of Warcraft. Now, I swore to myself that I would never get drawn in to the whole MMO thing, I loated Evercrack, I ignored Star Wars: Glaxies, but was a bit tempted by Jump to Lightspeed. I beta tested Vendetta Online, and when they get more content in there, I may go back and play it again. But then, after all my struggle, Blizzard, makers of the glorious Diablo and StarCraft bring us their version of the MMO.

Some could say it's perfect.

It's not perfect, but it is damned good. The world in itself is huge, the races are diverse enough. It could have a few more crafting professions, but the current ones are suitable. I mean, where else can you have a level 19 Night Elf Warrior/Cook/Medic/Miner/Engineer? And don't even get me started on the Exploding Sheep. I will be the master to a flock of sheep like ordinence. Hooray for Gnomish Engineering.

Anyways, in short, I like the game.

I can be found mostly as the warrior Syraphage on Earthen Ring, but if anyone else plays, I'll glady start a new char on their server. Or on Earthen Ring, if you decide to hang out there. We need a Vent guild ;)

Well, I don't know how long I will be with my current hosting provider, so I can't garuantee that I can get all the data off of the database when this goes down. Any posts since vent was put on haitus may dissapear when the move is final.

I'll let you know more later.

Brandon: This is the last post about VALVe, I promise.
Ok, so VALVe has not yet acknowledge that there is indeed a problem with Half-Life 2, I did manage to get it running...

By taking out one of my DIMMs and running with 512mb of RAM.

That's right, I had to modify my hardware configuration to make the stupid game work. Jeez, I'm no ubercoder, but I would think that that would be a pretty large bug that should have been sniffed out, or at least acknowledged.

The game is pretty badass though. The physics are rather realistic, and the Gravity Gun allows some pretty interesting tactics. Not to mention the story is great, even when you don't even really know for sure what is going on.

On another note, I am picking up Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater today, I figure that will keep me occupied while they take time to patch HL2. Anyone got any idea what the online component of the game is though?

Brandon: Fsck VALVe
I wait and wait and wait for your game, and now it crashes. Can't you guys do anything right?

So I uninstall HL2, and am in the process of re-installing it just to see since the Steam(ing pile of shite) client can't even do a simple MD5 to check and see if everything is kosher.

And to top it off, since the "Source" engine shares some of its content with Counter Strike: Source, and Half-Life 1: Source, if you have partial installs of either of those, it might crash too.

That makes no sense. I'm not going to re-download the game I purchaced on cd's because VALVe has no quality control.

Damnit. And to think I was pissed at Vivendi

Mood: *sigh*
