The Fall of Magic

In the past, the people of this world communed with nature, protecting and nurturing it. Ruled by gentle Lords, and their councils, the people were rewarded by the planet for their efforts. Wizards and Witches arose, living above and amongst the people. This apparent utopia produced disention in the ranks, causing it's rapid downfall. The Dark Wizard Archon, aided by the Lord of At'lus swept over the land, using forbidden skills to conquer the world. Their reign of terror lasted for an age

The Rise of Technology

Years passed, and the corruption of Archon and the Lord of At'lus spread across the land. A Cleric of one of the remaining nomadic tribes who were fleeing the destruction met up with a monk who had escaped one of the corrupted citadels. Together, the Cleric and the Monk forumulated a plan. The Monk, using his education gained before the Dark times, and the Cleric with his mathematics, developed new weaponry that even Magic was nearly powerless to defend against. Banding the tribes together the fall of Archon was swift as was his rise to power. The Cleric changed his name to Suzchenne, in the old tongue meaning something to the effect of 'Matter of Mind', the ideas of Magic soon faded from memory, and science and technology took over.

The Church

It was said that Suzchenne's army was aided by a Guardian, a spirit being that assisted him and watched over him as the battles were fought. This idea quickly spread throught the New Kingdom, and a faith was created amongst the believers in the Guardians. Now, it is said that everyone who belives has a Guardian watching over them. The high priests however, belive that only certain lineages are covered by the protection of a Guardian. The scientists of course, think it is all a waste of time. I'm inclined to agree with them...

Brandon: Returns...
Well, I'm back again. Had a great time. Ended up going to Ocean's of Fun before the flight back and let me tell you that it 0wnz as far as water parks go. The only think that Water Works has going for it is the insane speed slides. Other than that, it blows.

Anyways, I'm in the process of preparing the small amount of photos I took during my stay. In the meantime check out this Quicktime VR panorama I created here or the high res original file here.

Mood: Tired, but quite good, thank you.

Kansas is'nt half bad. Been hanging out with the sibling and the family and such. Might meet up with Nitrus tonight, considering he's back from CA.

Tomorrow, going to meet up with Patrick, should be fun.
