David: Half-Life Alyx

Not getting a VR setup anytime soon, so I read up on the game's story. No spoilers ahead, but if you've played through or done your research you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Yikes. They did the thing that I hate the most. There are certainly ways to explain it, but all of them cheapen the connection between the games that came before and whatever lies ahead.

Which I guess is good because now I can put Half-Life behind me. I'll let Epistle 3 be my ending point and just trust that humanity is doomed.

Am I the only one who is finding it hard to focus long enough to play any sort of complex video game right now?

Animal Crossing is my new jam. It's cute little animals building houses on an island and it zens me the fuck out.

MLB The Show 20, however, sends me into a psychopathic rage every damn time. It's a wonderful reminder that my hand eye coordination ain't what it used to be.

Damnit. I'm probably 3/4 of the way through the game. I was afraid they would do something stupid.

Oh well, it's still a really good VR experience.

Gameplay does look full of clever solutions to the medium's limitations, and I was pretty impressed with the videos of people juggling items and interacting with the environment.

The only thing that will get me to invest in VR is a great Star Wars or, better yet, Wing Commander star fighter game.
