In 1990 8.4% of Americans self identified as Atheist or Agnostic)*, by 2001 15% of Americans self identified as Atheist or Agnostic. That particular category had a greater rate of growth in the period than any religion (census bureau).

About 30% of Americans voted in the last presidential election.





* Those numbers do not include atheists who self identify as part of another group, such as Buddhists or Taoists.

So David loathes Hillary. It is very likely that she will be the Dem nominee for president. He has spoken of sitting this election out. Honestly, I don’t want to see him do that. To that end, I’ve started looking at third party candidates to see if there is one that David could vote for without feeling dirty. I found this:

Nathan Tyree: 30 Days of Night

30 Days of Night was all that I had hoped. It was dark, ultraviolent, and very entertaining. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Plus, it has one of the best creepy kid moments in movie history.

On another note: The trailer for The Mist looked quite good.

Nathan Tyree: Mr Brooks

Mr. Brooks is a maddening film. The reason is that it contains two movies: The great film about Mr. Brooks and Marshall and the dimwitted, genre film about Demi Moore and her posse of clichéd subplots. Every time I started to really admire the movie it jumped back to crapsville.
