Personally, I think that Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov, may be the best novel of the twentieth century.

It was Thomas Kidd that wrote The Jew of Malta. Most people can't get that straight. They confuse Kidd with Marlowe. Hell, I confuse Kidd with Marlowe. But that was in another country.

Nathan Tyree: The Sadness of it All

Really, all of this is sad. Nitrus feels insignificant. He suffers from some sort of an inferiority complex. In order to prop himself up in his own estimation he must attack and belittle others. Of course, he is unable to hold his own verbally. He will never thrill an audience with his acumen, erudition and rapier wit. He lacks those things. So, instead, he hurls childish epithets. When that has little effect he hacks into people's accounts so that he can post as them, and make them sound as dumb as he is. I pity the poor kid. I really do.

Someday he may accomplish something worth being proud of. Then he might grow up a little and behave like a reasonable adult. I doubt it. But it could happen.
