i just got a letter from my biological father.

i hadn't heard from him since i was 3 or 4.

he wants me to contact him.

he wrote of all these happy memories he has.

i remember nothing.

am i supposed to feel something for a father that has no connection to me other than blood?

he signed the letter as 'your father'.. and it looked fake to me.

i'm weirded out.

Being biologically related should not obligate you to have a relationship with someone. If this is not someone you want in your life, it doesn't matter whom he is. Make your own decision, but don't feel obligated by the fact that this guy used to have a relationship with your mother. He obviously never had one with you, at least for the majority of your life.

that's what i wanted to think.. but i didn't want to seem like a heartless jerk..

but i really do feel no connection to him. i never once missed him in all the years apart, and i maybe think of him randomly once every few months.
