Pooh's name was never Sanders. When Milne said that he lived under the name of Sanders, he meant the sign above the door which was there when Pooh moved in. The pooh books are full of that strange humor. Almost as if he was making inside jokes with himself.

Ah... but, can you be certain of that? Perhaps Milne was merely saying that pooh simply "lived under" the Sanders name to hide the fact that old Winnie was truly up to something.

I was looking the bear in question up on Wikipedia, and apparently, he had at least one enemy. Acoording to at least one source, E.H. Shepard hated our friend Winnie. Perhaps the name changes were attempts to elude the very man who produced some of the most famous illustrations of him!

BTW: your post title seems a bit odd since Pooh is originally Brittish, and the CIA is an American organization. He might be living in the states, now, though. Who knows?
