We may wll have the most corrupt congress in history. Teapot Dome? Forget about it. I've been obsessed about it recently. I couldn't create a list of evry corrupt congressman, but here are a few of the worst:
Rep. Roy Blunt has been cited for repeatedly inserting provisions into bills to benefit his lobbyist son and his girlfriend.
Dennis Hastert knew (possibly for six years) that Rep Foley was using the internet to solicit sex from minors. Hastert did nothing to stop it, and may have actively covered up the crimes.
Conrad Burns, with the help of his buddy Jack Abrahmoff, funneled around three million dollars to his friends and padded his own campaign coffers.
Richard Pombo paid his wife and brother $357,325 in campaign funds.
Rick Santorum got taxpayers to pay for his kids fancy private school.
John Hoestettler was arrested for taking a loaded 9mm on an airplane.
Mike Ferguson took $57,000 from Tom Delay. He has been heavily bankrolled by drug and oil companies.
Tom Reynolds was made aware of the Foley matter six months before the press broke the story. He failed to do anything about it.
Those are just a few that come quickly to mind. Can anyone say: culture of corruption? Our Republican congress believes that they can do whatever they want without repercussions. America should prove them wrong.
