Why? I think this is a stupid angle to attack McCain from.

He has a terribel temper and is given to fits. Often he seems to behave like a petulent child. Do you really want someone with rage issues in charge of the football?

You know, I call lots of people assholes, shitheads, douchebags, etc. I don't think I have rage issues. In fact, I am rarely enraged when I do so.

I know that. I am the same. His words alone are not at issue here. Look at who he was speaking to: his spouse. I would never call my wife a name like that, it is unacceptable behavior. Then, read the description of how he said it. Again and again I read descriptions and see video of McCain clearly in unwarranted rage.

All of that aside, though, it is a question of personality (which does matter for a candidate). His personality is bad.

It's a question of appropriateness, too. There's a time and a place for foul language, and directed at your wife in front of the press is neither. Whether you consider it to show excessive anger or not, it does show a lack of jugement and a tendency towards impulsiveness.
