Honestly, my vote won't count since it's in Idaho.
However, I do agree with McCain's energy policy. At least he understands that nuclear power is the currently the cleanest and most efficient way to generate electrical power.
I'm not 100% with senor Obama, but honestly, neither candidate can be any worse than our current Commander in Chief.
I thought there was at least a standardized test you had to take to make it into the office of President.
But, all things being equal, I would have voted for Hillary, so who am I to talk.
However, I do agree with McCain's energy policy. At least he understands that nuclear power is the currently the cleanest and most efficient way to generate electrical power.
"Cleanest" depends on what you consider dirty.
From a carbon standpoint, this is correct. However, nuclear waste is a whole different beast that raises it's own set of concerns (storage, security, etc...)
I do think that we need a drastic expansion of nuclear power, but we need to study and address the issues surrounding the processing of nuclear waste first.

The spent fuel can be used for other purposes. The government is actually doing quite a bit of work trying to minimize the impact. The only reason I know this is one of thier disposal sites and labs is out here in Idaho
That page has lots of info of what is and can be done with the spent fuel.
Part of the whole problem, however, is that reducing the number of "dirty" power sources in the US won't do all that much to the environment compared with what is going on in places like China which have no or few emmissions standards for power generation.
At any rate, I think that nuclear power is probably our best bet at the moment to move towards energy independance.
