I have no idea what the hell this film is about and I'm mostly OK with that.

However, I think that despite the myriad of great films under his belt, Nolan risks being too pretentious at times anymore. It may be the marketing folks, but that's just the vibe I get seeing the early trailer for this.

The difference between Nolan and someone like Terrence Malick for me is that even at his most-absurd, Nolan has always found some grounding in reality that made the films approachable or even relatable.
