The article talks about a suspicious private detective. Still no crime.

These mistakes made up less than 5% of the list.

Apparently potential republican crime is worse than actual crime committed by potential democratic voters.

Its not like it matters anyway. The Electorial College sees to that. It's a bunch of crap saying that your vote actually counts. I mean, what kind of election is it when the winner of the popular vote does not win the election?

The electoral college is there to protect states rights. If it were a popular voting system, states with large populations would be favored at the expense of the rest. The East coast and the West coast would dictate what happens in "fly over country". There are problems with the electoral college, but it does work.

Dammit, I'm actually forced to agree with Archie. Without the electoroal college the election would be decided by NY, FL, CA, TX, OH, and a handful of other states. KS, MO, NB, NM, and most other states would have nothing to do with the process.

The number of electoral votes a state receives is proportional to said state's population. It's not giving small states a bigger voice, it's just negating their minority votes.

The electoral college wasn't created to protect state's rights. It was created because the aristocratic politicians of the day did not think the common man smart enough to vote for himself. Therefore, each state voted on it's voters. An antiquated concept if ever there was one. The electoral college remains for one reason only, it makes election campaign "strategery" easier.

Electoral college or not, though, every vote does matter. Sure, if I don't show up to the polls on election day, my missing vote isn't going to change anything. However, if thousands of others have that same thought, it does. It's easy to get lost in a sea of activity and rationalize that your little bit isn't making a difference, but the fact is that it's not just you going or not going to the polls.

As I alluded to in another post, do what you'll do, and bully to you for doing it.

it shouldn't matter what the size of the state is...in reference to how they'd have more influence on the outcome. if popular vote was the determining factor, then it wouldn't matter what state held the most sway, because it would be each individual person's vote being counted. that would be the most fair way to ensure that the president was truly elected the 'democracy' way, because then every person would have a say. it doesn't matter if a state is republican or democrat on the whole, because if each individual person voted, it (being the outcome) would represent .... the people.
